Too many people are good at giving but lousy at receiving. They are afraid to be vulnerable, to ask for help. Afraid we will be considered too needy. Afraid of being rejected.
"So many of us were emotionally abandoned as children, and learned that the only safety or thing to count on was doing it all by ourselves." --SARK
You don't have to be perfect to be loved.
People don't have to agree with you 100% in order for you to be loved.
You don't have to be careful about needing the other person too much--love is still there.
Love is still there--even when you argue.
Love is still there--even if you are sad.
Love is still there--even if you are grieving.
Love is still there.
Love is an interesting thing. It is more powerful than you realize.
Love isn't measured. Love isn't . . . earned. It's there. Like God's Grace--it is there. You can't earn it, you can't control it . . . it just is.
It is only as I age that I begin to really understand what love is--and to appreciate with all my heart that I am able to love and I am loved.
